BGBG Flatirons Bank

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System™ is the national benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high-performance sustainable buildings. Flatirons Bank, Boulder County's only locally owned, locally managed community bank, earned LEED® for Commercial Interiors (CI) Gold certification. It is the first bank in Boulder County to earn the honor.

The Bank was also able to meet and exceed the City of Boulder requirements for higher Energy Efficiency (Ordinance 7620) only weeks after it went into effect in March of 2009.

The entire team worked to make this project possible including the Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Interior Design, LEED Consultant, Owner and Contractor. The process would not have moved forward smoothly without the commitment of all parties right from the start.

The interior of the bank is a distinct mix of efficiency and design; from the recycled currency countertop to the dual-flushing toilets. It is a truly unique space and we believe there is a great deal to see and learn from the design and construction of it.

Finally the glass is on site and going into place as designed. This is a sneak peek @ the construction as it is moving forward. Portal should be significantly completed this week and interior is close to having the drywall in place.

ChoLon is the largest Chinese market in Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and literally translates to “big market”. The ChoLon Modern Asian Bistro will be a culmination of Chinese, Vietnamese, and French influences that inspire Executive Chef Lon Symensma's cuisine.

Super Cool Furniture

This has to be one of the coolest finds in my short career. Timothy Moley of Chocolove Sent me a connection of his today for nostalgic furniture from Knoll to Gunlock, George Nelson and just about every other 20th century industrial manufacturing generation designer under the sun. I typically spend most of my waking design hours filtering through modern furniture design and sometimes forget the roots of great design and sustainability, (Reuse) create spectacular interiors. Granted the materials and textures have a dusty feel to the images, I can envision a great retro interior feathered with todays modern simplicity. Past Present and Future's Steve Mogol was a very enthusiastic connection that I look forward to working with on Chocolove.
